Statement of Faith
We believe the bible is the word of God in its entirety. It is not a history lesson or a nice story, but God-breathed and God-given (JOHN 1:1) (HEB 4:12-13).
We believe all scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. (2 TIM 3:16)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (1 JOHN 5:7)
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (MATT 16:16), born of a virgin (MATT 1:23), walked this earth as a man and was sinless in his life (2 COR 5:21)
We believe that Jesus died on the cross of Calvary and rose again on the third day (LUKE 24:46). He did this willingly for us as we (mankind) were lost in our sins and headed for a devil’s hell. Jesus went to the cross and paid the price for us (ROM 5:8). He shed His blood for the remission of our sins and now sits at the right hand of the Father. From there He will return in power and glory. (MATT 26:64)
We believe that Jesus is our great high priest, the lamb slain before the foundation of the world and the only way to the Father for a lost and sinful humanity. Repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to come into a relationship with God. (LUKE 13:3) (ACTS 2:38) (JOHN 3:5)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We also believe in His power to be a witness (ACTS 1:4-8) and in His gifts to edify and equip the body of Christ (1 COR 12:4-14). The sign of maturity, however, is not the gifts, but the fruit (GAL 5:22-23) with which the gifts need to be exercised. For ultimately ‘they shall be known by their fruit’, not their gifts.
